What to expect for your maternity session?
-Maternity sessions are usually done in between 30-36 weeks. These sessions can be done on location or in my studio. After we discuss your vision for your session, I can help select the perfect location whether its an urban setting with lots of old buildings and bricks or something near water with lots of pretty foliage.
-Family members are always encouraged to participate in these sessions. A new baby is a an exciting change for families, I like to capture this through a variety of different poses and angles.
-If you need help styling your session please contact me directly after you have booked. I am happy to help coordinate colors and outfits. I have a large selection of maternity gowns you are welcome to use.
-Many expecting mothers like to have their hair and makesup professionally done for these sessions. If you are interested in these services, I work with an amazing hair and make up artist.
What to expect for your birth story session?
Birth stories are definitely becoming more and more popular! It's a beautiful way to document the process and it frees up dad to be there to help and support you. I am on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for you from 38-42 weeks. I arrive at the hospital/birthing center once you are 5-6 cm dilated and stay for about 2 hours after birth to capture the first moments with mom and dad, bath and measurements.
-I do only take one birth session per month to avoid any type of scheduling issues so it's a first come first reserve basis.
-Please contact me to view a private gallery with more examples of my work and pricing information.
What to expect for your newborn session?
-Newborn sessions are done in between 5-14 days since your new baby is still very flexible and sleeps deeply. I will always make every effort to work with older babies but it’s important parents understand many of the traditional newborn poses may not be achieved.
-Sessions are done in my studio where you have access to a large selection of handmade boutique props and backgrounds to choose from. Parents are always welcome to bring in something they would like photographed with your new baby however it is not necessary. I have a signature style and prefer softer/neutral colors.
-These sessions take anywhere from 2-4 hours long. While this may seem like a very long time, I stop for feedings and soothing as needed! Please allow enough time in your schedule to stay the full time, in case your new baby needs some extra time to settle and fall asleep.
-My studio is very warm in order to keep your little one comfortable. Not only is the heater on (even in summer months) but I also keep a space heater on them. Please dress appropriately.
-I always encourage a few (2-3 poses) family photos during your session.
I will make every effort to work with siblings but please keep in mind a new baby is a huge change for a family. Since 2-4 hours can be a very a long time for toddlers to sit in my studio, I kindly request they only stay for that portion of the session.
